So, carrying on from our previous article, there are a couple more common problems areas we would like to tell you about.
In your legs; muscle strains, twists, meniscal injuries, arthritis, ligament sprains, tendinitis, tendinopathy, Achilles rupture, plantar fasciitis, bunions, corns, etc are mostly caused by a crooked frame (poor posture).
Many things can go wrong with the lower limbs, but again the cause is simple. Your legs and feet are supposed to face forwards (or just slightly off centre) so that when your hips, knees, and ankles bend, they do so in the correct direction.
If either leg is twisted or rotated (even a tiny amount) the amount of strain on your joints, ligaments, and muscles goes through the roof.
A simple test is to stand up into your normal position and look down at your feet. They should point almost straight ahead. Do yours, or are they pointing in/out? Does your big toe point straight ahead? Are your feet flat or over arched? If you squat, do your knees point in/out? If there is a misalignment, these are signs that your legs are twisted.
Your legs are affected by this twist more than your arms because your feet are in contact with the ground. So, all that force has no way to get out and ends up as strain in your muscles, joints, and bones. This pressure can affect any part of the leg and results in the many injuries listed above.
Many people will try and improve the mechanics of their feet and legs by using custom insoles or orthotics, taping, stretching, massage, etc. This can improve symptoms but usually at the cost of stability. This leads to injuries elsewhere as the root of the issue remains.

This means that orthotics and other devices and interventions are not needed. So, someone who can barely walk to the shops and back without lots of pain can become comfortable and move properly again.
